FABENS, Tex. (Dec. 10, 2004) — A husband and wife pilot team who briefly landed their powerless plane atop a moving tractor-trailer before crashing onto the highway were able to walk away from the accident unscathed.

Texas police said the pilot and his wife were returning home when their plane developed engine trouble and died above Interstate 10 east of El Paso. Police said the engine died before the plane could reach an airstrip.

They were able to briefly land the small plane on top of the trailer before flipping over onto the highway below. Police said the truck driver never heard a thing.
