KIRKLAND, Wash. — Kenworth Truck Company is set to offer Caterpillar C15 600 hp and 625 hp engines on the Kenworth T800 high hood model.

“Heavy hauler, rock and dirt, owner/operator and logging customers with a preference for the Kenworth T800 may be especially interested in considering these Caterpillar C15 offerings for the power needed to get the job done in their specific application,” said Jeff Sass, Kenworth marketing planning and research director.

Caterpillar’s C15 600 hp engine provides 1,850 lb-ft of torque at 1,200 rpm and the C15 625 hp engine provides 2,050 lb.-ft. of torque at 1,200 rpm. The Kenworth T800 high hood model with the C15 600 hp or 625 hp engine requires a manual transmission and Kenworth’s 1,430 sq.-in. radiator.
