KIRKLAND, Wash. — Kenworth has earned ISO 9001:2000 certification for the design, manufacturing and assembly of its heavy-duty and medium-duty trucks.

In order to receive certification, Kenworth had to measure and monitor customer satisfaction while improving its products and manufacturing processes. The latest ISO 9001 standard also placed an emphasis on taking a process-based approach to achieving customer satisfaction, the company says.

“Achieving ISO 9001:2000 status is really all about exceeding customer expectations,” says Paul Erdy, Kenworth’s director of quality.
