KIRKLAND, Wash. — Kenworth Truck Company has produced its latest version of a special guide to assist fleets and owner/operators interested in exploring ways to improve fuel economy.

Kenworth’s “Push Less Air Pull More Profit” guide emphasizes the importance of spec’ing trucks for aerodynamics and fuel economy. The newly updated, four-page guide provides spec’ing tips, including the use of full roof and chassis fairings, side extenders, and under hood air cleaners, in addition to careful selection of wheelbase and fifth wheelsetting to ensure the optimal trailer gap.

Available as a .pdf file for electronic download and printing from Kenworth’s home page (www.kenworth.com), the Kenworth guide also offers driver tips and proper maintenance steps to help enhance the bottom line through increased fuel economy.

The Kenworth “White Paper on Fuel Economy” is also available on Kenworth’s home page. The Kenworth white paper explores six major areas – aerodynamics, component spec’ing, advanced technology, route management, driver behavior and proper maintenance. The white paper complements the fuel efficiency guide to provide detailed and comprehensive information from Kenworth.
