Kenworth Web site tool calculates potential savings

KIRKLAND, Wash. — A new addition to the Kenworth Web site is designed to help fleets and owner/operators quickly estimate the potential cost savings of the no-idle Kenworth Clean Power system.

The Kenworth Clean Power Calculator is available on the manufacturers Web site, www.kenworth.com. The calculator shows the difference between Kenworth Clean Power and idling the truck’s engine to provide normal hotel loads, including heating, cooling and 120-volt AC power.

Simply fill in the truck’s annual fuel use, fuel cost per gallon, annual non-working idling hours (defined as truck and driver at rest), and estimated percentage of the year spent idling for driver comfort to calculate the annual percentage and estimated dollar savings.

Kenworth Clean Power is a factory option for the T660 model with 72-inch AeroCab sleeper. More information, including dealer stops on the national Kenworth Clean Power Technology Tour, is also available on Kenworth’s Web site.
