CALEDONIA, Ont. — KRTS Transportation Specialists plan to help celebrate Caledonia, Ontario’s 150 birthday by hosting a barbecue Sept. 6.

The event will include free truck rides and photos for kids, as well as games for all ages, with proceeds going to the Johnnie Edwards Scholarship Fund.

The celebration also coincides with the beginning of National Trucking Week Sept. 6-12.

“This could not be a more perfect fit,” says KRTS president Kim Richardson. “We have decided to build our business in the town we as a family have lived in for all our lives. There is an enormous history associated with the Richardson families and Caledonia.”

Haldimand County Mayor Lorraine Bergstrand will kick off the celebrations, both for Caledonia’s birthday and National Trucking Week, at 11 a.m. Shiny rigs will be on site from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
