The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) has appointed Mark Seymour, CEO of Ontario-based Kriska Transportation Group, as chairman for the 2026–2027 term. He becomes the third Canadian to serve as chairman of the association.

Seymour, a second-generation trucking leader with more than 40 years in the industry, was elected during TCA’s annual convention in Orlando on March 3.

In accepting the role, Seymour emphasized collaboration and unity as his priorities.

“I’m not an academic or a politician, I’m a trucker, and I’m proud of that,” he said. “During my time as chairman at TCA, I will be using the same principles that I’ve used my whole career: Let the subject matter experts do their job and support them where I can; I want to listen to the members as I’ve listened to our people — I won’t try to fix what isn’t broken. I’ll try to enhance what we have — [and] respect the good stewardship before me and pass it along after me.”

Seymour grew up around trucking — as his father was in the business — and started his career at 18 behind the wheel before moving into leadership roles. He took over the family company in 1994 at age 30 and helped grow it into Kriska Transportation Group, the diversified cross-border transportation provider it is today.

Reflecting on the industry’s challenges, Seymour acknowledged the difficult market conditions fleets have faced in recent years but said he is optimistic about the future.

“This is an exciting time for me and my career,” he said. “I’m excited for the tailwinds that we are about to see and experience in the direction we’ve been waiting on for a long, long time.”

Seymour succeeds outgoing TCA chairwoman Karen Smerchek, who becomes the association’s first immediate past chairwoman.
