JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Landstar System Inc. has made Forbes Magazine’s Platinum 400 List of America’s Biggest Companies for the fourth year in a row.

“We are pleased to be recognized by Forbes as one of ‘America’s Best Big Companies’,” says Landstar President and Chief Operating Officer, Henry Gerkens. “It’s our continued commitment to excellence, the entrepreneurial spirit and our flexible business model that have enabled us to outperform others in the industry.”

To be considered for the Forbes list, companies with annual sales of at least US$1 billion have to meet or exceed the highest level of financial requirements, plus show “strategy, stamina and growth to standout among the others,” according to the Jan. 6 issue of the magazine, in which the Platinum 400 List was published.

According to the Forbes listing, Landstar’s stock price has increased 297 per cent over the last five years.
