LANGLEY, B.C. — The City of Langley is taking a closer look at its future transportation needs and developing a Master Transportation Plan (MTP).

The plan will be conducted by a traffic engineering firm and will project traffic demand on the city’s road network in 2006, 2011 and 2021.

“The city has conducted a number of transportation studies in the past that are either project or area specific,” Francis Cheung, the city’s head engineer tells local media. “The MTP will be a comprehensive, integrated plan that addresses the city’s present and future travel requirements for all land-oriented modes of travel.”

The process will include neighborhood meetings and public open houses. The MTP is expected to be completed by October.
