Lewiston-Queenston Bridge reduced to two lanes

TORONTO, Ont. — As of Feb. 7, the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge will be reduced to two lanes as construction on a fifth lane for the bridge begins.

Construction is expected to take 10 months and be completed by mid-November. During that time traffic will be funneled through two lanes going in opposite directions.

Private and commercial drivers should expect delays due to the construction.

Once completed, the fifth lane will be restricted to commercial traffic with pre-screened cargo and is expected to reduce truck backups on the Lewiston and Peace bridges.

For information contact the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission, at (716) 285-6322 in the U.S., or at (905) 354-5641 in Canada. The Commission can also be reached via e-mail at: General_Inquiries@niagarafallsbridges.com
