MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Cancom Tracking announced Linamar Transportation has implemented Fleet Manager Professional, the latest module added to Trans+Plus’ suite of transportation management software solutions.

Linamar Transportation made the decision to purchase Cancom’s OmniTRACS in 1995, which complemented their existing dispatch software from Trans+Plus. Since then both companies have made significant strides in their service offering.

Fleet Manager Professional is an intuitive, event based, trucking dispatch and freight brokerage software system for integrated fleet and logistics management. This latest offering from Trans+Plus offers increased software performance, scalability, reliability, security and wider acceptance of use.

According to Doug Robson, Transportation Manager for Linamar, one of the first companies to migrate to the upgraded system, "Cancom and Trans+Plus compliment each other quite nicely. Both suppliers have been in partnership with Linamar for many years and they have the capability of growing with Linamar."

Fleet Manager Professional’s integration with Cancom’s OmniTRACS, offers other benefits such as the reduction in check calls that free up the dispatch department’s time as well as reducing the amount of manual entry into the software system. The integrated messaging improves driver safety, efficiency, productivity, and communications, says Dave Wright, President of Trans+Plus Systems Corp. Linamar’s web site, with help from Freight Assist, another component of Fleet Manager Professional, further integrates communications with online order service," added Dave. "It allows their customers to track shipments on-line.

“Cancom is committed to providing our customers with the most advanced and effective solutions for mobile communications and tracking,” said Mike Ham, Vice President, Cancom Tracking. “This continued partnership provides carriers with a software package that will combine the information received from satellite communication with the functionality of an automated dispatch and operations management environment.”
