MONTREAL, Que. — Freight-matching Web site Loadsurfer.com has partnered with the Quebec Trucking Association to provide an exclusive Web site allowing member carriers to share loads and equipment.

The site is immediately available to QTA members, the company announced, allowing them to share excess freight amongst themselves.

“Increasingly, we are seeing companies really scrutinizing the trading partners that they do business with,” said Loadsurfter CEO Roy Thacker. “Eventually, we will see more of these smaller trading environments interconnected on a larger scale.”

The QTA welcomed the new service.

“In today’s difficult economic environment, our members feel better doing business with companies they already know,” said Marc Cadieux, president and general manager of the association. “We are confident that the customized trading platform Loadsurfer has helped us to develop will provide QTA members with an added sense of security.”
