Lobster lovers asked to help locate stolen load

by Truck News

GRANDE-ANSE, N.B. — The Caraquet RCMP are asking the public to be on the lookout for cheap lobster, after a trailer was taken from a lobster processing plant in Grande-Anse.

The stolen load was taken at around 10:15 p.m. July 1, police say. Surveillance footage show the trailer being removed by a dark-coloured Volvo day cab.

There were two yellow and read towing lights on the rear top corners of the truck and the front licence plate was attached to the middle of the truck’s front grille, not its usual location, according to the RCMP.

The trailer was an unmarked 53-ft. refrigerated tandem with fairings. The trailer’s licence plate is PT-6-65-11. (The letters are small with the ‘p’ atop the ‘t’).

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Caraquet RCMP at 506-726-5222. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), texting TIP212 + your message to ‘CRIMES’ (274637), or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca.
