MONTREAL, Que. — FLS Transportation has slated to open its 15th centre for logistics operations in Detroit, with operations beginning at the end of June.

The Detroit branch will be named the FLS Automotive Operations Center in reference to the city being the heart of the automotive industry.

“We at FLS are excited to open our newest location in the Motor City. Detroit is a prime location for our company, as we already have many customers in the automotive industry and it is an excellent spot for our cross-border business,” stated Mark Kummer, executive vice-president of FLS.

For nearly 20 years FLS has developed asset-based trucking, 3PL and Maritime business units. Recently FLS has seen rapid growth in its intra-US volume and in 2007 the company will open 12 new offices, one every month, in order to satisfy customer demand.

FLS already has offices in Montreal, Toronto, Calgary, Moncton, N.B.; Chicago, Jackson, Miss.; Shreveport, La.; Bentonville, Ariz.; Greensboro, N.C.; Reno, Nev.; Atlanta, Springfield, Mo.; Cincinnati and Charlotte, N.C.
