Love’s Brings Diesel Exhaust Fluid to 245 Stations Across U.S.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — Truckers looking to fill up on diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) now have a greater variety of options thanks to Love’s Truck Stops, which has just finished adding DEF to every one of its 245 stops across the United States.

“Having DEF at the pump allows Love’s customers to not only purchase DEF in a far more cost effective way than buying jugs, but also gets them back on the road much quicker,” says Jon Archard, director of fuel marketing at Love’s.

Love’s began installing DEF to diesel islands in 2011, but it has taken two years to outfit every single location.

Bret McKinney, senior fuel manager for CRST Expedited, says the increased availability solves a big problem for drivers using DEF. “With our fleet’s expedited freight base, we have to limit the number of stops the truck makes in order to make a delivery on time.”

“In the past, this has been difficult when we had to search for locations that have adequate DEF availability,” he says. “Knowing that all Love’s locations have DEF right at the pump is valuable and eliminates a headache for the fleet.”

Love’s has also added RFID technology (radio-frequency identification), or “tap-to-pay”, to all of the DEF terminals, making it the first in the United States to offer both services together in their nationwide network.
