Low lube top plate
A fifth wheel leads a life of contradiction: it has to grip and slip at the same time, with the “slip” typically demanding a healthy dose of grease. Fontaine International’s new 7000 Series cast fifth wheel is designed to maximize grip-it uses the company’s patented No-Slack II locking mechanism-with less lubricant when you mate it with Fontaine’s no-lube top plate mating surface. The plate is rated the same as any other 7000 Series top plate: 55,000 pounds on the vertical load, 150,000 pounds on the drawbar pull.
