Mack Shop makes web improvements for the holidays

LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. — The Mack Shops newly redesigned Web site aims to make it easier for shoppers to search for, identify and buy Mack-branded tools, toys, apparel and gifts.

A major change to the new merchandise site was adopting the look of the award-winning Mack corporate Web site.

Its important for us in two ways, noted Randy DeLillo, Macks general manager of merchandising/licensing. Obviously, we want to make it plain to our customers that theyre purchasing authentic Mack merchandise from the company itself, so its important that the design be consistent between the two sites. And we wanted to take advantage of the visitor-friendly design elements that help make our corporate site so popular such as presenting high quality product images that change to give the site a fresh look on each visit.

Among the advancements, DeLillo notes that the new Mack Shop site home page loads faster on customers screens, while its e-commerce function can process orders in a fraction of the time of the former site. The simpler design of the home page and navigation menus also helps would-be purchasers explore all the Mack Shop offerings.

One improvement is the new Wish List feature. Visitors can identify items on the site they want and then by sharing their Wish List account password, they can help make gift shopping easier for their loved ones.

The new Mack Shop site also addresses a common complaint among online shoppers selecting items and trying to buy them, only to find theyre out of stock.

On our site, each of our listings carries an amount in stock number, so the shopper can see if their choices are available for shipping, DeLillo said. And selected items come with a list of related products, so if the customer has second thoughts about their original selection theyll have more options to browse without leaving the page.

The Mack Shop has been conducting e-commerce transactions on its site for more than ten years. The shop Web page can be accessed from the Mack corporate site or directly at www.mack-shop.com.
