Mack Trucks has announced a refresh of its Mack MD Series diesel and electric medium-duty trucks. The trucks now feature a larger cab and enhanced safety features to improve the driver environment.

“The launch of the refreshed Mack MD Series once again demonstrates Mack’s commitment to delivering the best medium-duty truck for our customers,” said Jonathan Randall, president of Mack Trucks North America, in a news release.

The Mack MD Series includes the MD6, a Class 6 model with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 25,995 lb., and the MD7, a Class 7 model with a GVWR of 33,000 lb. Both models are available with diesel or electric drivetrains.

The company says the updated MD Series now features a cab that is four inches longer than the previous version, offering more seat recline and legroom. Influenced by the Mack Anthem cab, the MD cab includes premium satin aluminum trim, improved seating with lumbar support, enhanced LED lighting, and a new overhead console for additional storage. The trucks also come with new steering wheel controls for cruise control, telephone, and audio functions, increasing driver convenience and safety.

Standard safety features now include a new anti-lock braking system with automatic traction control, radio mute in reverse, and a park brake alarm. Mack said in a release that updates to the wheelbases with industry-standard cab-to-axle dimensions and pre-wired body builder connections make the MD Series easier to equip with a wide array of body installations.
