Man dies after trucking yard accident

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — A man was killed yesterday after being pinned under the tractor-trailer he was fixing at the time.

According to the Toronto Star, the 30-year-old man, an employee of the trucking yard in Mississauga, Ont. where the incident occurred, was trying to repair the rear brakes of the unit when it was accidentally backed into him.

Peel police Det. Stephen Duivesteyn said it appears the victim was working on the rear brakes when another driver moved the vehicle.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police did not confirm initial reports that the man driving the tractor-trailer was the victim’s father. No charges have being laid.
