Manac shuts down Orangeville plant

(October 19, 2001) — A slowdown in the North American economy, compounded by Sept. 11, is the main reason Manac has temporarily suspended operations at its Orangeville trailer plant. The facility employs about 175 people.

The company says the Saint-Georges, Que. Plant will take on all van production until the Orangeville plant reopens-which is not expected until at least spring of next year.
