WINNIPEG, Man. — The Manitoba Department of Transportation’s division of Driver and Vehicle Licensing is now offering detailed commercial driver abstracts.

The new abstract provides a wide range of offence information that can be accessed by carriers when hiring new drivers.

For instance, the abstract contains offences related to commercial driving under the following Acts and regulations: The Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act; The Dangerous Goods Handling and Transportation Act; The Manifest Regulation; Hours of Service regs; Securement of Loads Regulation; Vehicle Weights and Dimensions on classes of Highways Regulations and many others as well.

The Manitoba Trucking Association has been lobbying the province to make this information available for some time now, and the new service was launched this past July.
