Manitoba student wins $20,000 scholarship from Reimer Express Lines

WINNIPEG, Man. — Lindsey Nicole Kruschel of Beausejour, Man. has been awarded the 2006 Reimer Express Scholarship. Kruschel is the fifth recipient of the scholarship, earned on the basis of academic achievement and involvement in extra-curricular activities. The scholarship has a total value of $20,000.

In addition to Kruschels accomplishments in academics, she was also an active member of the Travel Club, the Canoe Club, the fastball and curling teams and was the captain of the volleyball team for two years. Kruschel has also actively been involved in coaching both volleyball and fastball, along with volunteer work at the Western Canada Games and the Manitoba Games. She will attend the University of Manitoba in the fall, majoring in architecture.

Lindsey is the daughter of Wanda and Kerry Kruschel. Kerry has worked for Reimer Express in the transportation department in Winnipeg for over 13 years.

Children of Reimer employees are eligible for the annual scholarship program. Reimer awards one four-year scholarship to an outstanding student each year.
