Manitoba Truck Safety Symposium upcoming

WINNIPEG, Man. — Truck safety will be the focus of an upcoming symposium hosted by the provincial government and its stakeholders.

Government, law enforcement, the trucking industry, research and educational professionals are all teaming up to deliver the symposium, slated for Oct. 29. Issues that will be discussed include: Jurisdictional approaches to carrier profiles; national and international issues relating to vehicle weights and dimensions; and infrastructure management and truck safety.

The symposium will be held from 8: 30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Victoria Inn on Wellington Ave. in Winnipeg. Cost is $175 which includes coffee and lunch. Proceeds will go towards a scholarship for excellence in truck safety research at the University of Manitoba.
