MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — The Manitoba Trucking Association will be participating in the Dispatcher of the Year Award along with other provincial trucking associations APTA, OTA and STA.

Cancom Tracking, which annually sponsors the Dispatcher of the Year Award with these associations, said it was pleased to confirm that the Manitoba Trucking Association would be joining in.

The award is designed to provide recognition to a position within the transportation industry that is often overlooked, that of dispatcher.

An effective dispatcher must lower driver turnover by creating loyalty, and improve fuel mileage by making sure pickups and deliveries are maximized
efficiently.

Dispatchers also have pressure to increase profits and assure business success by maintaining personal care of valuable customers. An outstanding dispatcher will not only do these tasks once, but repeatedly.

“Our industry recognizes the important role dispatchers play in the lives of our drivers, the success of our companies and ensuring our customers’ needs are met. It is only fitting that we recognize their efforts and contributions.
