Markel seminar to open discussion on WSIB and alternative coverages

TORONTO, Ont. — Markel Insurance Company of Canada will be holding an information seminar called Lets Talk about WSIB and Alternative Coverages in Toronto March 29. Both owner/operators and carriers employing owner/operators are invited to attend.

Both WSIB and alternative coverages come with significant costs, benefits and obligations to businesses, no matter which route they choose, Markel officials said. The key is to make informed business decisions based on a clear understanding of the risks faced.

Topics to be addressed at the seminar will include the costs and benefits of WSIB and alternative coverage
Options; regulatory requirements and constraints; and perspectives from insurance brokers, trucking carriers and legal professionals.

The seminar will be held at the Renaissance Toronto Airport (Muskoka Room) from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Reservations are required as seating is limited. The cost is $149 for Markel policyholders and $249 for the general public. To register, call Markel toll-free at 888-MARKEL1.
