Marsh signs on to ‘Best Fleets’ contest

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) and CarriersEdge say that trucking insurer Marsh Inc. has agreed to sponsor the Best Fleet for Company Drivers award.

Now in its third year, Best Fleets to Drive For is an annual evaluation of the best employers in the trucking industry.

CarriersEdge, a Canadian-based provider of online driver quality improvement solutions, conducts the survey for TCA.

The program is open to all for-hire trucking companies with 10 trucks or more. To be considered, fleets must be nominated by a company driver or owner-operator currently working with them.

Those nominations are followed by interviews with company management and an additional random sampling of the company’s drivers and independent contractors.

Fleets are evaluated against a broad range of criteria reflecting current HR best practices.

They are then sorted into two categories: Those that employ company drivers, and those who utilize the services of owner-operators.

The highest scoring fleets in each of these areas will be singled out for recognition as the Best Overall winner in that category.

"Marsh strongly believes in sharing best practices across the industry and promoting the positive programs that fleets are running," said Scott Cober, national transportation practice leader for Marsh Canada.
