EDMONTON, Alta. — Drivers in Northern Alberta may want to alter their routes to avoid being held up by the movement of a giant coker vessel for Suncor Energy.

The second vessel to be delivered this winter will begin its journey to Fort McMurray along Highways 14, 36, 28 and 63. The giant load will be hauled from Edmonton beginning Feb. 26.

The load is more than 32 feet wide and 225 feet long. It will be escorted by the RCMP and have up to five pilot cars. For information about the status of the haul, contact 1-866-829-1882. A similar vessel was transported by Premay to Suncor earlier this winter. For a full report on that move, see the March issue of Truck News and Truck West.
