MATS REPORT: New Bendix brake package for Petes

LOUISVILLE, ky. — A new, lightweight package of the Bendix ADB22X air disc brake product will launch in April, according to Bendix Spicer Foundation Brake.

The new brake package will be offered on new Peterbilts starting April 2nd.

Featuring a lightweight aluminum hub and splined disc assembly, the package is designed to reduce wheel-end weight and rotor dynamic stresses, provide improved thermal balance and offer longer brake life.

Compared with other brake configurations on a typical 6×4 tractor, the air disc brake package can reduce weight by as much as 240 pounds over conventional drum brakes, and by as much as 209 pounds over other air disc brakes, which use an iron hub and conventional rotor.

As with all Bendix ADB22X air disc brake packages, the new product is manufactured using proven Bendix rotor metallurgy and friction formulations, adding longevity to the components while still maintaining the safety and performance that Bendix ADB22X air disc brakes are known for.
