Maxim Truck says They’ll go Pound for Pound with You
WINNIPEG — Don’t give up on your New Year’s weight loss resolution yet.
Maxim Truck and Trailer says that for every pound you lose, they’ll donate a pound of food to a local food bank. And if that wasn’t enough motivation, you can win an iPad2 and other prizes.
The new campaign, called the Maxim 500 Pound Challenge, is designed to promote workplace wellness, help local food banks, and raise awareness of the MaxxForce diesel engine.
“Our first teams are weighing in today, but you can join as a team or an individual at any point between now and the end of the Challenge,” explained Harry Dornn, marketing director at Maxim.
The idea for the contest came out of looking for ways to promote the MaxxForce diesel engine. The MaxxForce engine, says Maxim, does not require a urea tank or urea fluid to meet current emission standards. By choosing a truck with a MaxxForce engine over a truck that requires urea and its related equipment, 500 pounds of total equipment weight is dropped. And so, the Maxim 500 Pound Challenge.
“MaxxForce is still relatively new to market, and we find many people simply haven’t heard about it and don’t know there’s an alternative — a great alternative — to urea,” said Kevin Bowen, national truck sales manager at Maxim. “We hope to get that word out in 2012. And we’re happy to be able to support food banks across Canada, and help our own employees and the people we work with improve their health and wellness, while we do it.”
