TROY, Mich. — Meritor Wabco has received a Quality Excellence Award from Hino Motors Manufacturing USA.

The medium-duty truck maker bestowed the honour on Meritor Wabco for the second straight year. It’s the highest honour for product quality that the manufacturer gives out.

The award recognized Meritor Wabco’s Hebron, Ky. plant, which achieved a perfect defect rate of zero parts per million in 2009. The plant provides Hino with pneumatic and hydraulic anti-lock braking systems for its trucks built in the US and also in Woodstock, Ont.

“Winning back-to-back Quality Excellence Awards shows the consistency of our efforts to deliver the quality and value that Hino customers expect,” said Jon Morrison, general manager, Meritor Wabco. “It’s a well-earned honour for our team in Hebron.”
