GREENVILLE, S.C. — Michelin has started aggressively marketing its retread business and is dramatically growing its number of points of sale.

Michelin says its retread division, Michelin Retread Technologies (MRT) has increased its market share by 16 per cent through the third quarter compared to the same period last year. Now, the company is launching a new distribution program to increase availability.

Under the Michelin Retread Associate Dealer Program (MRADP), Michelin new tire dealers have the ability to see Michelin retreads. Associate dealers will also have the opportunity to join the MRADP offering additional sales and service locations.

“The increasing demand for Michelin retreads is an excellent growth opportunity for new tire dealers,” says Randy Clark, vice-president of marketing for Michelin Americas Truck Tires. “The MRADP is a great way to offer the complete line of Michelin commercial products – both new tires and retreads – that fleets are demanding.”
