Michelin opens new Canadian retread plant
LAVAL, Que. (Oct. 21, 2004) — Michelin Retread Technologies Canada has added Canadian Treads as its fifth MRT franchise in Canada.
Through its Edmonton facility, Canadian Treads will begin operations of a Michelin Pre-Mold retread plant before the end of the year. This latest addition expands the existing MRT North American network.
“We are very pleased to welcome Canadian Treads as our newest franchisee. This affiliation will allow us to service customers wanting Michelin quality and technology in retreaded truck tires,” says Guy Pekle, President of Michelin Retread Technologies, in a press release. “The demand for MRT products in Western Canada is high. With this addition, we are now better positioned to serve our customers’ needs.”
2004 has been a year of growth for MRT, the company said. There are now more than 230 points of sale in North America for Michelin retreads.
