MileMaker gets a face lift
Rand McNally Transportation Data Management Inc
Skokie, IL-based Rand McNally Transportation Data Management Inc., a provider of routing software, has made several enhancements to its popular MileMaker and IntelliRoute software and IntelliRoute.com.
The new MileMaker software release includes updated ZIP code tables, and IntelliRoute also has an updated Designated Network providing the most up-to-date information available to calculate routes. Additionally, the itinerary will list violations for each road segment by user-selected truck type. Users can now import mileage and fuel calculations using industry standard HHG miles to any Excel spreadsheet cell. The products also have the capability to receive updated data via the Internet.
For customers who integrate MileMaker or IntelliRoute functionality into other applications, the “indicators by route segment” functionality is now provided via the API.
The route management software supports a variety of business operating systems, including mainframes, AS/400s, Unix, and Windows. Regardless of the computer platform utilized, HH G mileage is included as one of the routing options and the same transportation data is generated using industry standard HHG rules.
In addition to product upgrades Rand McNally will unveil a new suite of software products that are designed to meet the unique needs of independent professional drivers and small fleets (those running up to 25 trucks).
The first new product, RouteTools, a software CD, will be officially launched this month at the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas, Tex.
