Ministry examines highway coating after vehicles damaged

VICTORIA — Flying gravel on Hwy 18 in B.C. has damaged several vehicle windshields.

Poor quality of the newly coated highway is being blamed, reports Canadian Press. And motorists and truckers who have had their vehicles cracked or chipped are encouraged to submit a claim.

The Transportation Ministry is reviewing the situation.

The seal-coating project was completed in early September to reinforce asphalt on highways with heavy truck traffic, according to CP.
