Missing hitchhiker last seen at Mississauga truck stop

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — A woman known for hitching rides with truckers across Canada has been reported missing. Shelly Mildred Vandurme, 39, was last seen at 1 a.m. Tuesday at the Petro Pass Truck Stop at 6086 Atlantic Drive in Mississauga. Vandurme is described as white, 5’6" with a slim 114-lb. build, shoulder-length auburn hair, brown eyes and a small mole on the right side of her face. She also has a four-inch diamond-shaped tattoo on the right side of her neck below her right ear. She was last seen wearing blue jeans with a rhinestone butterfly on right leg, a black t-shirt with the initial "TK" in pink, a blue jean jacket and tan work boots.Vandurme, originally from Alberta, is of no fixed address and has been living out of transport trucks for the last month.Truckers with any information are asked to contact the 12 Division Peel Regional Police Criminal Investigation Bureau at 905-453-3311 ext. 1233 with any information.
