ST. THOMAS, Ont. — Daimler Trucks North America will lay off 720 additional workers at its Sterling truck plant here, the Canadian Press reports.

That will bring the total number of layoffs at the plant to more than 1,300. The latest round of layoffs is expected to be effective in November.

Production at the plant is expected to decrease from today’s rate of 75 trucks per day to as few as 38 in the fall.
