GIMLI, Man. — The Manitoba Trucking Association (MTA) has named Gardewine North’s Dennis Clark as its 2004 Trailmobile Service to the Industry award winner.

The presentation was made at the MTA’s management conference in Gimli, Man. on Sept. 11. Clarke has been a dedicated member of the MTA who has volunteered countless hours to association activities, the MTA says. He has sat on the MTA Board of Directors, the Executive Committee, the City of Winnipeg/Province of Manitoba Liaison Committee, the Ad hoc Revenue Generation Committee, the Convention Committee, the Fundraising Committee, the Canadian Trucking Alliance and the Standards Council.

In addition, Clarke has also managed to find time to get involved in his community as a member of the Rotary Club and town council. He has also coached children’s sports including hockey and ringette.

"During the many years in our industry Dennis has been an active and visible supporter of our association and a strong advocate in advancing its issues," the MTA said in a release.

Meanwhile, Bryan Hardy of GE Trailer Fleet Services was presented with the 2004 Maxim Associate of the Year award at the same conference. Hardy has been an MTA member for more than 10 years as an Associate Trades Division member.

For seven of those years, Hardy served on the Associate Trades Division Executive Committee. He has also been active in planning Associate Division events and has been actively involved in the Professional Truck Driver Championships. Hardy was also an organizer of the Tribute to Transportation dinners hosted by the MTA and has helped organize events ranging from golf tournaments to conventions.
