MTA doles out scholarships

WINNIPEG, Man. — The Manitoba Trucking Association (MTA) recently presented seven scholarships to employees or dependants of members to assist with their continuing education.

Bob Senkow, president, Murray Wedlake, chairman of associated trades division, and Jim Beamish, chairman of vehicle maintenance council, were on hand to present three academic awards and four apprenticeship awards.

The academic awards go to those with the highest overall average in four subjects and these recipients were Cassandra Lozinski, Katherine Potter and Jennifer Wiebe.

The apprenticeship scholarships are awarded to the top level 1 and 2 graduates in the transport truck mechanic and the transport trailer mechanic programs. The recipients are Daniel Boille, Tony Dykman, Colin Thorlakson and Rui Chaves.
