N.S. spring weight restrictions in effect

HALIFAX, N.S. — The annual spring weight restrictions on Nova Scotia roads will came into effect province-wide at 12:01 a.m. this morning.

These restrictions on heavy trucks is announced each year during spring thaw to help protect roads that are weakened by mild and wet weather, and they are in effect until 12:01 a.m. Monday, May 5. They will be removed sooner if road and weather conditions permit.

Information will also be posted on the department’s Web site at www.gov.ns.ca/tran .
