FORT PROVIDENCE, N.W.T. — The Northwest Territories has approved the construction of the Deh Cho Bridge over the Mackenzie River at Fort Providence.

A recent Memorandum of Intent was signed, outlining conditions for the design, financing, construction and operation of the bridge.

Commercial truckers likely will be charged a toll to cross the kilometre-long structure, which should be completed by 2005.
