National Transportation Week celebrations just around the corner

EDMONTON, Alta. — Plans are coming together for the Edmonton celebrations of National Transportation Week, which will include a parade, trade show, job fair and gala dinner.

The dinner will be hosted by Alberta Minister of Infrastructure and Transportation, Lyle Oberg. He will also be presenting several prestigious awards, including Transportation Person of the Year which has been won by Darshan Kailly, president of Canadian Freightways. The All Modes gala dinner and awards ceremony takes place June 2.

On June 4, a pancake breakfast will be held in the morning at the Brick parking lot, followed by a parade which kicks off at 9 a.m. A NTW job fair and trade show are held the same day in Edmonton as well as a show and tell which will feature vintage and new equipment from the transportation industry.
