OTTAWA, Ont. — Canadas trucking industry will celebrate National Trucking Week Sept. 9-15 this year.

The annual celebration is held to recognize the valuable contributions more than 400,000 Canadian men and women make to the economy. Industry associations are active during this week in promoting the industry to the public and many carriers take the opportunity to recognize a job well done with barbecues and other activities.

The Canadian Trucking Alliance sets the dates and helps coordinate events.

“Each year members of the trucking industry and industry suppliers come up with a wide variety of ways to recognize truck drivers and other employees,” says David Bradley, CEO of the CTA. The CTA has posted a list of ideas to celebrate the event on its Web site: www.cantruck.com. Click on the Canada Moves by Truck icon for more information.
