TORONTO, Ont. — The 407ETR toll highway rolled out its rewards program for frequent travellers today, but it appears trucking companies will not be eligible.

The company points out, however, the trucking industry benefited from a separate rewards program announced in August. Details can be found at www.407etr.com/Products/custserv_heavy.htm.

The four-year, $40 million rewards program announced today provides free kilometres and gas savings for “personal customers” who travel more than 400 km per month on the toll road. To qualify, customers must have at least one “light” transponder, have no outstanding balance on their account and have travelled at least 400 km per month on the highway over a six-month period.

Qualifying customers are expected to save 10-15% off their monthly bill and up to 9 cents per litre off gas. They will also be able to drive the 407ETR for free on weekends for up to 140 km.
