New Brunswick Wants to Hear Truckers’ Weight Beefs

SUSSEX, NB — Attention New Brunswick truckers. Want input into how the Department of Public Safety enforces commercial-vehicle weight restrictions??

If so, get yourself to either the Fairway Inn in Sussex next Tuesday, Nov. 8 between 6:00 and 9:00 p.m. or the Bathurst campus of the College Communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick the following Tuesday, at the same time.

The Ministry held one information already this week, in Woodstock.

"Our goal in this consultation is to ensure that the opinions and ideas of those in the trucking industry are heard by government," said N.B. Public Safety Minister and Solicitor General Robert Trevors. "I look forward to hearing what they have to say."

More than 800 representatives from the trucking industry have been invited. Discussions will focus on a recent agreement to harmonize weight enforcement strategies throughout Atlantic Canada.

If you can’t make it in person, you can put your concerns in an email to consultations@gnb.ca or in a regular letter and mail it to:
Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Program Review, Department of Public Safety, Argyle Place, P. O. Box 6000, Fredericton, N.B., E3B 5H1.
