WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has issued its final regulations on commercial drivers licensing.
These rules bring into force many of the provisions contained in the Motor Carrier Safety Improvement Act of 1999.
State refusing to adopt the new standards can have both Federal and MCSAP funds withheld over their noncompliance.
The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance plans to discuss the impact of the new regs in detail at its Fall Workshop in Boston, Aug. 25-28.
