GATINEAU, Que. A new contract has been awarded to begin work on the McConnell-Larame Boulevard.

The project comes under the Quebec-Canada agreement to improve the highway system in the Outaouais region. The Governments of Canada and Quebec will each fund 50 per cent of the costs.

The first phase of the project is important because it will make it possible to link Highway 50 to Saint-Joseph Blvd. The work began Sept. 22, 2003 and is expected to cost $8,611,007.
