New filtering device on guard

Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems has introduced PuraGaurd DL, an air filtering device that the company says will capture 70% of oil and carbon from a heavy truck’s air system, before it reaches the dryer.

Installed between the compressor and air dryer, the device traps carbon particles, liquid oil, and aerosols using a microglass fiber filter. Areosols are combined into larger droplets that are then captured in the dryer’s filter. The company says PuraGaurd DL protects critical air system components downstream of the compressor while helping to reduce air brake system maintenance.

Fleet tested, PuraGaurd features a spin-on filter cartridge and a built-in safety relief valve that sounds an audible signal in the event that the cartridge ever becomes clogged.
