New finishing on brake rotors
Gunite
Gunite Corp. has introduced a new series of disc brake rotors, which are finished with the application of a high performance coating to protect the exciter teeth which are machined in the rotor surface from the effects of corrosion.
Steve Howse, director of technical services says if corrosion were to take place on the surface of the exciter teeth there is the potential for the sensor to improperly read the surface configuration and as a result shut down the ABS system. By applying this coating to the surface of our rotors the company eliminates the corrosive effects of road salt and other corrosion causing elements common to the everyday environment. The treatment also protects the entire surface of the rotor making brake rotor easier thereby reducing the potential for damage to other ABS components due to rough treatment during brake maintenance, he said.
