MACTIER, Ont. — The Ministry of Transportation opened a new 26-km section of four-lane highway north of MacTier on Oct. 7.

With the opening of this new section, there will be some changes in highway numbering to ensure continuity of the provincial highway network.

The following changes will be made to coincide with the opening of the new highway:
– The newly constructed four-lane section from the Moon River northerly to Rankin Lake Road will be numbered as Highway 400
– The previously opened four-lane section from Rankin Lake Road northerly to Parry Sound will be dual numbered as Highway 400/69
– The existing two-lane section of Highway 69 from the Musquash River northerly to the Moon River will also be dual numbered as Highway 400/69
– Existing Highway 69 from north of the Moon River northerly will remain as Highway 69

Signs indicating these changes were scheduled to be in place on or about Oct. 7 to coincide with the opening of the section of road. To view map for specific details, please visit www.files.newswire.ca/6/HighwayOpening.doc
