New leadership announced for Western Star

Kelly PlattPORTLAND, OR – Kelley Platt will take over from the retiring Michael Jackson as general manager of Western Star Truck Sales, Inc.

Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) announcement yesterday.

Michael Jackson, who has served the company for 10 years, will retire March 31.

As general manager of Western Star he headed up numerous successful product launches, including the new Western Star 5700XE.

Jackson said working for Daimler Trucks North America has been an important part of his life, both professionally and personally.

“I am pleased to retire and leave the Western Star brand in the capable hands of my successor Kelley Platt,” he said.

Platt will assume the position of general manager of Western Star on April 1.

She joined DTNA in 1989, playing a crucial role in the company’s acquisition of both Western Star and Thomas Built Buses.
